Updated: Mar 17, 2020

About This Content El Presidente is selling out. It’s time for Tropico to start playing in the major league of international franchises. Start by inviting investors and constructing a chain of Fast Food Restaurants all across the island. Do you have the guts to beat the Slow Food competition?New standalone scenario: “Joint Venture” – Beat the Slow Food competitionNew building: Fast Food Joint – Provides entertainment for citizens and touristsNew dynasty avatar accessory: Become a walking act with the McWigNew sandbox map: Punta de RefugioNew music track and additional voice recordings 1075eedd30 Title: Tropico 5 - Joint VentureGenre: RPG, Simulation, StrategyDeveloper:Haemimont GamesFranchise:TropicoRelease Date: 6 Nov, 2014 Tropico 5 - Joint Venture Hey man want some burg. Wouldn't recommend because you get just one more buidling. I Would like to play as the great dictator of tropico not a clown! The songs and voice recordings should have just been a update because i wouldn't buy this for that!. Well, this is definitely an interesting addition to Tropico 5. I have not yet completed this mission successfully, but I appreciate this new twist on a game that gave a feel of a different time period, that has now been fast forwarded to a more modern time. At first I felt like they may have dropped the ball on this one, just didn't seem like it was going to fit in quite the same as new buildings from previous DLCs have. I am pleased to report, that although I am struggling with the concept of this DLC and have not yet completed a full play through of it, it does add a kind of aspect of all out corporate greed, just on a much smaller scale. You compete against another island for profits from these fast food locations, while also trying to complete other goals along the way. We need more tourism buildings! I do appreciate these other DLC's and have been sure to purchase and play through them thoroughly, I just feel like a bit of expanding on that aspect could serve this game well. I always seem to not really bother with tourism unless it is called for, perhaps a new bigger hotel, or just ways to upgrade the existing buildings further? I am not sure exactly what is missing there, but something new there would be nice. As well as a new story campaign. No pressure.. by the time the Fast Food Joint building is available, i've already got plenty of food and entertainment available. There's nothing the Fast Food Joint building adds that makes it worth taking up space on my island.the mission it adds is very cheap, fast, and easy just like fast food dur hur. Joint Venture is the 4th tiny stuff DLC in a row. Mission, building, fluff. This time El Presidente must put people onto some healthy fast food diet before the competition, the slow food, crushes them. By making profit faster through these shops than the timer\/numbers of competition of unhealthy slow overburned food. It actually starts in Modern Times era, but you don't have to worry about military. Just set up economy on this island and then make sure that both Tropicians and Touristians use it as their enternainment building. Otherwise, just some fun scenario without tedious or frustrating part.As for building, the unique purpose of this Fast Food Joint is......It's not unique. Hm. Requires electricity. Somewhat like restaraunt. Attracts slob tourists, but both they and locals can enjoy this one. Maybe it makes good profit. I don't know, I didn't notice anything special. Requiring electricity aside.. Very fun mission. It is extremely frustrating and very challenging and after about four attempts, I still couldn't complete it. I somewhat like the twist in starting in Modern Times and having to optimistically rapidly expand your economy while being careful. The tasks you have to complete are doable, but anything can screw you up as the mission task is very fragile. I recommend it for the challenge.I like the building in this DLC, a nice small addition.I haven't touched any other parts of the DLC.For the first four DLC of Tropico 5, this has probably the best challenge. I purchased this DLC for $2.40 on sale and I recommend it at that price, but at $3.99, I wouldn't purchase it. 7\/10----Thanks for reading my review! If you liked it, give it a rating.. Wouldn't recommend because you get just one more buidling. I Would like to play as the great dictator of tropico not a clown! The songs and voice recordings should have just been a update because i wouldn't buy this for that!. I truly wish steam had more options for reviews than a simple thumbs up and thumbs down. Perhaps a drop down rating system, but i digress. Is the mission this small dlc adds fun? yes moderately so. Is it groundbreaking? At 3.99 i don't expect it to. Is the building useful. Absoulutely not. Listen I've tried every conceivable way to make this building useful. It's just not. Sure theoretically it is more profitable than "slow food". Yet entertainment buildings profit margins are very meager. If you want to make money even resource farming is better. Then the building is simply difficult to manage. It requires too many workers to operate for how many customers it serves. Then it adds the added nightmare of consuming electric reserves that already have to be carefully managed. What i really wish they would add in the form of a small dlc is a super power plant. I don't know it could be a thermal borehole or something. It could produce an ungodly amount of elctricity but also just as much pollution. I'd buy that small dlc happily. Yet this fast food building is less useful in game than even in real life. I've seen fast food joints in real life operate with less workers and electricity. In summary, if you are dying to play a fun mission by all means buy. If you have to have a new helpful building avoid this dlc like the plague, even if it's on sale. Like me, the building will make you want to cry. I give joint venture 5\/10.. The contents of this DLC should be free. Recommend to purchase on sale\/special.
